    “Scramblin’ on the Green” Golf Tournament a Great Success
     
    The North Port Area Chamber of Commerce Annual “Scramblin’ on the Green” Golf Tournament held last Saturday, November 13th, at Port Charlotte Golf Club was a tremendous success. The Chamber would like to thank everyone that participated and supported in the golf tournament. The Chamber would like to thank the following people that were instrumental in making this year’s golf tournament a great success. Chamber staff Denise Berg and Emily Shaw and Chamber office volunteers Beverly Grove and Karen Dill who worked endless hours to organize and ensure that everything was completed so that the golf tournament would run without a hitch. To the Chamber’s Board of Directors who continuously provide support to all of the Chamber’s endeavors so that the Chamber can continue to carry out the Chamber’s mission and meet the needs of our Chamber Members and the community. To all of the players that participated in the golf tournament that helped us sell out the golf tournament. To all of the volunteers that helped set-up the golf course prior to the golf tournament and to those volunteers that volunteered the day of the golf tournament. To Randy Kendrick and Lance Broat at Venice Print Center who provided all of the marketing material, signs and banners to help promote the golf tournament and recognize those that contributed to the golf tournament. To all of the businesses, organizations and individuals that donated raffle prizes, silent auction and goodie bag items to ensure that players received incentives for participating in the golf tournament.     Ribbon Cutting Ceremony
    The North Port Area Chamber of Commerce will be conducting a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for Tru Nutrition, located at 3345 Bobcat Village Center Road in North Port, on Friday, November 19th at 1:00 pm. Join us as we welcome Tru Nutrition to the North Port Area Chamber of Commerce and to the City of North Port and see what types of products and services they have to offer. Nutritional Teas & Meal Replacements will be provided. Ribbon Cutting Ceremonies are free and open to all Chamber members and to the public.
     
    Annual Frosty Award Contest
    North Port will soon be ablaze with holiday lights and decorations! The North Port Area Chamber of Commerce is conducting the Annual Frosty Award Contest for the holidays and will award its annual Frosty Awards to the storefront businesses or organizations which exhibit the most festive holiday decorations. Businesses/organizations need to be Members of the Chamber to be considered for the Frosty Awards. Applications to compete in the Annual Frosty Award Contest are due this Friday, November 19th and participants are requested to send their applications to info@northportareachamber.com or deliver them to the Chamber office. There are two categories: Judges' Choice Award and People’s Choice Award. Judging for the Judges' Choice Award will take place on December 8th from 2:00 pm – 8:00 pm. The public will be able to vote for the People’s Choice Award December 1st - 8th by completing a ballot online on the Chamber's website. Contestants for the People's Choice Award must e-mail their you tube video link to Heather Jorge at makingfldreams@gmail.com by 5:00 pm on Monday, November 29th in order to participate in the online voting. Paper ballots for the People's Choice Award will be available at the Chamber's office and each participating business or organization. The Annual Frosty Awards will be presented to the winners on December 16th at the Chamber’s Annual Awards Luncheon 11:30 am - 1:30 pm.
     
    Net @ Noon Luncheon
    This month’s Chamber Network @ Noon Luncheon will be held on Thursday, November 18th, from 11:30 am – 1:00 pm at The Grill at 1951, located at 1951 Tamiami Trail in Port Charlotte. The cost is $20.00 per person if paid in advance or $25.00 per person if paid at the door. The Chamber will be introducing new Chamber Members at this Luncheon. This event is open to all Chamber Members. Non-Chamber businesses and organizations are encouraged to attend to experience the power of Chamber networking. To gain additional exposure for yourself and your business/organization, it is recommended that you bring a door prize to give away. Attendees are requested to register in advance so that proper arrangements can be made. 
     
    Annual Holiday Social
    The North Port Area Chamber of Commerce will be hosting their Annual Holiday Social on Tuesday, December 7th from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm at Pitmaster All American BBQ, located at 2200 Kings Highway in Port Charlotte. The theme for this year’s holiday social is “Good Old Fashion Country Christmas” and attendees are encourages dressed in their most festive attire. This is a great opportunity for Chamber businesses and organizations to celebrate the Holidays with their fellow Chamber members and to treat and thank their employees for all of the hard work they provided over the past year. The cost is $30.00 per person or $50.00 per couple and includes: appetizers, beverages (cash bar available), live DJ, dancing and much more. This year, the Chamber is proud to announce that we will once again be partnering with the City of North Port Police Department to support their annual Shop with a Cop Program. The Shop with a Cop Program is design to assist families less fortunate during the holiday season and provide presents for children. North Port Police Officers shop with these children at Walmart #3387 in North Port and purchase and purchase Holiday presents for them and their families, while building trust and positive relationship with the City of North Port Police Department. Attendees attending the Holiday Social are asked to bring a monetary donation or Walmart gift cards which will be donated to the North Port Police Department Shop with a Cop Program. As families in North Port continue to feel the effects of the COVID-19 Pandemic, the Chamber is asking Chamber Members and the community to make a donation for this cause and make this Holiday Season’s Shop with a Cop Program the most successful ever and to help those less fortunate in our community experience a joyous Holiday Season.
