    Chamber Encourages Businesses/Organizations to Decorate for the Holidays
    North Port will soon be ablaze with holiday lights and decorations! The North Port Area Chamber of Commerce is conducting the Annual Frosty Award Contest for the holidays and will award its annual Frosty Awards to the storefront businesses or organizations which exhibit the most festive holiday decorations. Businesses/organizations need to be Members of the Chamber to be considered for the Frosty Awards. Applications to compete in the Annual Frosty Award Contest are due Monday, November 19th and participants are requested to send their applications to info@northportareachamber.com or deliver them to the Chamber office. There are two categories: Judges' Choice Award and People’s Choice Award. Judging for the Judges' Choice Award will take place on December 8th from 2:00 pm – 8:00 pm. The public will be able to vote for the People’s Choice Award December 1st - 8th by completing a ballot online on the Chamber's website. Contestants for the People's Choice Award must e-mail their youtube video link to Heather Jorge at makingfldreams@gmail.com by 5:00 pm on Monday, November 29th in order to participate in the online voting. Paper ballots for the People's Choice Award will be available at the Chamber's office and each participating business or organization. The Annual Frosty Awards will be presented to the winners on December 16th at the Chamber’s Annual Awards Luncheon 11:30 am - 1:30 pm.
     
    Business After Hours
    This month's Business After Hours networking event will be held today, November 9th, from 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm at SeePort Optometry, located at 4381 Aidan Lane in North Port. This event is open to all Chamber members and there is no cost to attend. Businesses and organizations that are not currently a member of the Chamber are encouraged to attend to experience the power of Chamber networking and see how the Chamber can help their business or organization. Attendees are requested to register in advance so that proper arrangements can be made. To gain additional exposure for your business or organization, you are encouraged to bring a door prize to give-a-way at the event. Food and beverages prizes will be provided.
     
    Scramblin’ on the Green Golf Tournament
    The North Port Area Chamber of Commerce is excited to announce that the Annual "Scramblin' on the Green" Golf Tournament, being held on Saturday, November 13th at the Port Charlotte Golf Club, is once again sold out. There are still limited opportunities for businesses or organizations to take advantage of opportunities to promote and market themselves to golf participants and to the community. Remaining sponsorship opportunities will be sold on a first-come/first serve basis. Opportunities include: 

    • “Birdie Package” Sponsorship - this in-person sponsorship opportunity allows a business/organization to set-up a 10' X 10' tent, table and two chairs at one of the tee boxes on the golf course to promote their business/organization and pass out promotional items, snacks, beverages, etc. to the golf participants. The cost for the “Birdie Package” Sponsorship is $200.00.
    • "BIRDIE" Sponsorship - Customized 18”x24” coroplast hole sign with your logo or name to be displayed at tee box. The cost for the "Birdie" sponsorship is only $100.00.
    • "Bogey" Sponsorship - this sponsorship allows a business/organization to include 150 promotional items in the "Goodie Bags" that are distributed to golf participants and volunteers. Promotional items (no paper items) would need to be delivered to the Chamber office by Wednesday, November 10th. The cost for the "Bogey" Sponsorship (Goodie Bag Inserts) is $25.00.
    • “Raffle Prizes” – The Chamber is seeking donation of items that can be used as raffle prizes at the Golf Tournament. Raffle Prizes will be handed out to Golf Participants at the Golf Tournament Awards Banquet. All businesses, organizations and individuals that donate a prize will receive recognition at the Golf Tournament and Awards Banquet. This is a great way to promote your business or organization to the golf participants and to the community. It is requested that all donated prizes be received at the Chamber office by Wednesday, November 10th.
    Net @ Noon Luncheon
    This month’s Chamber Network @ Noon Luncheon will be held on Thursday, November 18th, from 11:30 am – 1:00 pm at The Grill at 1951, located at 1951 Tamiami Trail in Port Charlotte. The cost is $20.00 per person if paid in advance or $25.00 per person if paid at the door. The Chamber will be introducing new Chamber Members at this Luncheon. This event is open to all Chamber Members. Non-Chamber businesses and organizations are encouraged to attend to experience the power of Chamber networking. To gain additional exposure for yourself and your business/organization, it is recommended that you bring a door prize to give away. Attendees are requested to register in advance so that proper arrangements can be made.
     
    Annual Holiday Social
    The North Port Area Chamber of Commerce will be hosting their Annual Holiday Social on Tuesday, December 7th from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm at Pitmaster All American BBQ, located at 2200 Kings Highway in Port Charlotte. The theme for this year’s holiday social is “Good Old Fashion Country Christmas” and attendees are encourages dressed in their most festive attire. This is a great opportunity for Chamber businesses and organizations to celebrate the Holidays with their fellow Chamber members and to treat and thank their employees for all of the hard work they provided over the past year. The cost is $30.00 per person or $50.00 per couple and includes: appetizers, beverages (cash bar available), live DJ, dancing and much more. This year, the Chamber is proud to announce that we will once again be partnering with the City of North Port Police Department to support their annual Shop with a Cop Program. The Shop with a Cop Program is design to assist families less fortunate during the holiday season and provide presents for children. North Port Police Officers shop with these children at Walmart #3387 in North Port and purchase and purchase Holiday presents for them and their families, while building trust and positive relationship with the City of North Port Police Department. Attendees attending the Holiday Social are asked to bring a monetary donation or Walmart gift cards which will be donated to the North Port Police Department Shop with a Cop Program. As families in North Port continue to feel the effects of the COVID-19 Pandemic, the Chamber is asking Chamber Members and the community to make a donation for this cause and make this Holiday Season’s Shop with a Cop Program the most successful ever and to help those less fortunate in our community experience a joyous Holiday Season.
