Home at Last: A 27,000-Mile Journey to North Port (Van of Valor at the North Port Library)

Join us at the North Port Library at 13800 S. Tamiami Trail for a free unforgettable afternoon, "Home at Last:  A 27,000-Mile Journey to North Port," as the authors of Van of Valor and a Wingman for Miss Universe share the stories behind their extraordinary 280 day journey gathering stories of American heroes.  Kevin Wallace, a retired Air Force senior master sergeant and Afghan war veteran, and his wife, L. Wright Wallace, a Harvard anthropologist, share chance encounters in VFW halls to emotional interviews with Gold Star families, from the Vietnam jungle to the deserts of Afghanistan, they traveled 27,000 miles to ensure that the sacrifices of our service members are never forgotten.  Following the presentation, stay for a Q&A session and book signing.
