THANKS4GIVING TREE CAMPAIGN
The Rotary Club at Wellen Park, in collaboration with the Wellen Park Welcome Center, is once again initiating an impactful Thanksgiving service project, aptly named "Thanks4Giving." This charitable endeavor will run from October 5th to November 14th, during which the Thanks4Giving Tree will be prominently displayed at the Wellen Park Welcome Center, adorned with tags that represent various donation amounts.
On November 15th, members of the Rotary Club at Wellen Park will collect the tags. Then, they will head to Publix to purchase complete Thanksgiving dinners. These dinners will include a frozen turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy, and all the essential accompaniments, ensuring that families in need receive not just food but a warm and festive meal. The Awaken Food Pantry will then take responsibility for picking up the meals and distributing them to deserving families within the community.
Here’s how you can participate:
Visit the Wellen Park Welcome Center, located at 12275 Mercado Dr. This is the starting point for your contribution.
Select a Tag from the Thanks4Giving Tree. Each tag represents a specific dollar amount, allowing you to choose a contribution that suits your capacity to give.
Purchase a Publix Gift Card in the exact dollar amount indicated on the tag you selected.
Return Your Gift Card. Bring your gift card back to the Wellen Park Welcome Center, where it will be collected for the upcoming shopping spree.
At the conclusion of the donation period, Rotary Club members will gather the gift cards and embark on a shopping trip to procure Thanksgiving meals. Each contribution, no matter how small, plays a crucial role in bringing comfort, joy, and a warm meal to those who are truly in need.
This Thanksgiving, let us unite as a community and ensure that the spirit of gratitude and giving shines brightly. Together, we can create a memorable holiday for all the right reasons.
