WHAT YOU'LL DO

As a Control System Specialist at Boyd Brothers Service Inc., you’ll be on the front lines of delivering advanced energy management solutions. You’ll work independently and alongside a supportive team to ensure systems are running smoothly and efficiently for our commercial clients.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Starting up, commissioning, and recommissioning HVAC, lighting, and refrigeration control systems.
• Analyzing energy usage data and identifying opportunities for optimization.
• Reviewing technical documentation like wiring diagrams and as-builts.
• Providing exceptional service through calls, emails, and field support.
• Coordinating with field technicians and contractors to ensure seamless project delivery.
• Documenting service logs, work orders, and commissioning reports accurately and on time.
• Troubleshooting system issues and providing creative, effective solutions.
• Maintaining professionalism and positive rapport with customers—especially under pressure or tight deadlines.

WHAT YOU BRING

Required Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED plus 2+ years of experience in HVAC, electrical, or technician roles – OR – Associate’s degree or post-secondary technical training with 1+ year of relevant experience.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
• At least 1 year of experience in customer service or support roles.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Hands-on experience with building automation systems and controls integration (BACnet, Modbus, etc.).
• Knowledge of HVAC, lighting, and refrigeration controls applications.
• Solid understanding of IP networking and computer systems.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Experience handling conflict resolution and leading or mentoring team members.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Self-starter attitude with a high level of independence.
• Always maintains a professional, polished appearance and demeanor.
