    Location: 13600 Tamiami Trail, North Port, FL  34287 (may work part remotely)
    Employment Type: Paid position, Part-Time-20 hour/week

    North Port Meals on Wheels supports the health and independence of some of the city’s most vulnerable residents through daily meal delivery and personal contact. Our team of staff and volunteers work together to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our clients.

    Position Summary:
    The Administrative Assistant ensures the smooth and efficient operation of the office by performing a wide range of clerical and administrative duties. This role is key to supporting our service delivery and maintaining accurate communication and records across departments.

    Key Responsibilities:
    • Answer and direct incoming calls; respond to inquiries
    • Update client information in the meal delivery software
    • Print and deliver daily route sheets to the kitchen
    • Support client intake by guiding potential clients and informing the Client Coordinator
    • Coordinate initial client inquiries and assist with eligibility paperwork
    • Retrieve and summarize data from records, emails, and other documents
    • Assist with menu preparation and distribution
    • Greet and direct visitors and clients
    • Perform general office tasks such as typing, filing, and document processing
    • Maintain office filing systems and supply inventory
    • Coordinate office equipment maintenance
    • Perform other related administrative tasks as assigned by Executive Director

    Qualifications:
    • High school diploma or GED required
    • 1–2 years of administrative experience preferred
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software
    • Highly organized with keen attention to detail
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
    • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks

    Physical Requirements:
    • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and using a computer
    • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally
