Child Protection Center Announces the Keith D. Monda Family Campus of Healing
March 25, 2026The Child Protection Center (CPC) proudly announces the naming of its South County campus as the Keith D. Monda Family Campus of Healing, made possible by a catalytic gift from Keith Monda and Veronica Brady. “This naming recognizes Keith and Veronica's extraordinary leadership and generosity in advancing CPC’s mission to protect children and help survivors of abuse heal and thrive,” said Executive Director Doug Staley.
Steadfast supporters and visionaries who have walked alongside CPC’s mission for decades, the couple shared, "As our community has grown, so has the need for an expanded campus of support and healing for children who have experienced abuse. We hope our gift inspires others to join us in this cause.”
This announcement comes as CPC advances plans to expand the Monda Campus of Healing to meet the rapidly increasing demand for services in South Sarasota County. North Port has experienced population growth of more than 200% since 2000, making it one of the fastest-growing cities in the country. CPC serves Sarasota and DeSoto Counties as the region’s only nonprofit solely dedicated to the prevention, intervention, and treatment of child abuse. The organization reviewed over 3,500 local reports of child abuse last year.
As part of this next phase, CPC has assembled a distinguished design-build partnership to bring the expanding campus vision to life. The project is led by Willis Smith Construction, Hoyt Architects, and Kimley-Horn, whose expertise will guide the planning and development of facilities designed specifically to support healing and safety for children and families in crisis. The planned expansion includes the construction of a 7,000 square foot facility that will allow CPC to augment critical child abuse services, ensuring families in South County will have access to compassionate, specialized care close to home.
Gulf Coast Community Foundation and its donors are launching a $500,000 challenge match in support of the project, doubling the impact of gifts made by the community. The challenge match kicks off on April 1st, the first day of Child Abuse Prevention Month, to further highlight the critical need for child abuse services and connect the community with CPC’s resources. "When we collaborate with our donors and community partners, we can invest in projects that shape the health and well-being of our community,” said Sasha Pyatte, Director of Donor Partnerships for Gulf Coast. "We believe in the importance of creating and nurturing safe, supportive spaces like those the Child Protection Center provides, particularly for children and families in North Port and other communities across our region.”
“The Monda Campus represents a bold investment in the future of our growing community,” remarks Elizabeth K. Topp, Capital Campaign Manager. “We must ensure that every survivor has access to a safe and healing environment. We refuse to fail our community’s children and never want to delay healing services for a survivor due to a limitation of space or capacity.”
