CenterPlace Health Welcomes Dr. Linda Stone to Board of Directors,  

Strengthening Commitment to Community-Driven Health Care

Sarasota, Florida – June 17, 2025 

CenterPlace Health, a leading provider of accessible, high-quality health care services to patients in and around Sarasota County, is pleased to announce the election of Linda Stone, M.Ed., PhD, to its Board of Directors.   

Dr. Stone has worked in public health and related public service programs for low-income, culturally diverse populations since 1979. In 2016, she assumed the role of Chief Executive Officer for what would become CenterPlace Health.  She was charged with ensuring the timely, efficient and successful transition of a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), which served approximately 25,000 patients, from a public entity co-applicant arrangement with the Florida Department of Health in Sarasota County (DOH-S) to a community-based not-for-profit 501 (c) (3).  Transition tasks included developing the methodology and processes necessary to ensure a seamless transition of operations across all health center delivery sites and business functions.

Community Health Centers are unique in their governance structure, with a majority of their board members required by federal law to be patients of the center. This ensures that the health center remains responsive to the needs and voices of the community it serves.

Dr. Stone holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Florida, a master's degree from Stetson University, and a Doctor of Philosophy from the University of Florida.
