Child Protection Center Launches New Online Resource Library to Support Families and Protect Children
February 03, 2026The Child Protection Center, Inc. (CPC) is proud to announce the launch of its new Resource Library, a comprehensive and ever-growing online hub of tools, information, and crisis-hotline links designed to empower families, caregivers, community members, and professionals in protecting children.
With this Resource Library, CPC aims to provide easily accessible and user-friendly support for families near and far. The resource guides are presented in a way to reduce the fear and anxiety that often surround topics of child safety, instead focusing on safety through empowerment, basic safety practices, and open, honest conversations.
Currently, the library includes the following comprehensive guides: Practicing Personal Safety with Your Child; Internet Safety; Abduction Prevention; and Healthy Coping Skills, Regulation, and Repair. Guides feature conversation tips, quizzes to take alongside your child, and guidance on managing emotions. The Resource Library also provides information on how to report suspected child abuse, what to do if a child has disclosed abuse to you, warning signs of child abuse, important statistics, and various support and crisis hotlines.
“A child’s best defense against abuse is a community that’s educated and aware,” said Doug Staley, Executive Director at CPC. “We created this Resource Library to give everyone in Sarasota and beyond a starting point — whether you’re a parent, a teacher, a coach, or just someone who cares — to learn, act, and advocate for children’s safety. We all have a role to play in protecting kids.”
The Resource Library is now live on CPC’s website at https://cpcsarasota.org/resources/ with plans to include additional guides and resources for adolescents, caregiver support, survivors of abuse, and youth-serving professionals as they become available. CPC encourages local organizations such as schools, daycare centers, camps, pediatric care offices, houses of worship, social-service agencies, and community offices to link or display the resources in their lobbies or digital communications. Additionally, CPC offers free trainings for all Sarasota County residents and printed materials (pamphlets, rack cards, etc.) for agencies interested in providing child-safety education to their staff and families.
The Child Protection Center’s (CPC) mission is the prevention, intervention, and treatment of child abuse, as the organization envisions a community where children are safe from abuse and free to thrive. For over 45 years, CPC has been serving Sarasota and DeSoto Counties in the State of Florida and is accredited by the National Children’s Alliance.
